Marmaris – Hisarönü Gulf – Marmaris

You’re welcome onboard after 15.30. Once settled on the boat, dinner and the overnight stay will be in Marmaris Harbor or at a nearby bay according to your preferences.

Whilst you have breakfast we will set sail for the Serce Bay. A Byzantine shipwreck from 11th century which is exhibited in the Bodrum Museum, was found here. The night will be spent in Bozukkale. In the ancient city of Bozukkale (Loryma), there is a castle which stretches out in a rectangle with its city walls and 9 temples. You can also visit the castle when your boat is anchored in this bay.

After breakfast we will cruise to Datca. According to a myth while the Spanish pirates were passing by the coast of Datca, they disembarked people with Hansen’s disease in Sarıliman Bay and these abandoned people recovered from their disease with the help of the clean weather of Datca. You can explore Datca yourself or join the optional Cnidus tour. Another sightseeing around is Old Datca (Dadya, Eski Datca) with beautiful old stone houses, holiday and permanent residences of many Europeans and Turks, is showing typical architecture of the area. For dinner and overnight stay we will anchor in Datca or at a nearby bay.

After breakfast we will cruise to Aktur Bay. Datca-Aktur Holiday-Centre is situated in a jealously conserved pine forest with the limpid sea and the reddish mountains behind. Then our first stop will be Bencik Bay; which has a very narrow entrance but a unique view once you get inside. Bencik is located at the narrowest part of the peninsula that divides Hisarönü Gulf from the Gökova Gulf. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Bencik Bay.

Today, we will sail into the Hisarönü Gulf. For lunch we will anchor in Orhaniye. In Orhaniye Bay, you will see the unique scenery of a natural tidal formation called ‘kız kumu’ (Maiden’s Beach). There are so many myths about this reddish sand-path going from the shore to the inner parts of the sea. On a tiny island located in the bay, you can see the wrecks of an antique castle, a sign of an ancient city. Today, our final destination will be Selimiye for dinner and overnight stay. It’s also been quietly serving the natural port for yacht tourism. Selimiye is dominated by the large enclosed bay like a lake view.  Many people arrive in Selimiye by yacht or gulet. The town has a strong local reputation for traditional wooden boat building, so on the road into the town you will pass several boat yards where you will see massive wooden gulets being built in time-honored traditional methods. Also look out for fresh figs, almonds and other goodies that you can buy from the small local shops.

The morning cruise takes the boat along the coast from Selimiye to the deep bay of Dirsekbuku for lunch and swimming. Then our boat will sail to Bozburun which is famous for its sponge diving history. Today it is famous for building wooden gulets. Quiet fish restaurants, villas and hotels line the bay now while more sailors and visitors discover its charm.

Today, after breakfast our first stop will be Arap Island. we will get the lunch at Arap Island Then we will pass to Kadırga Bay for swimming at overnight stay.

Around 09:30 it is time to turn back to the harbor of Marmaris and say farewell to our Gulet and crew.
